  • Batwing Shield - Reference to the cartoon Batfink, and his catchphrase "My wings are like Shields of Steel." ✔
  • Guru Bear - The lore text 'smarter than the average bear' was what Ranger Smith would often say of Yogi bear. ✔
  • Keldor - Reference to the fictional character Skeletor, the arch-enemy of He-Man from the 'Masters of the Universe' franchise. ✔
  • Monolith's Pantaloons - This item is a reference to Obelix from the French Comic "Asterix and Obelix", where the Roman empire conquered the whole of Europe except for a small village in Gaul (France). The inhabitants were able to resist the Romans through a potion that granted them super-strength for a small amount of time. Obelix possesses this super-strength permanently after he fell into a cauldron of the potion as a baby, and his job is a Menhir (Monolith) carver. ✔
  • Scuttlegore - Inspired by a creature from Thundercats. ✔
  • Sheet of the Craven Mage - The Sheet of the Craven Mage is a nod to the character Linus from the long-running comic strip "Peanuts". ✔

  • Lord Tyranthius - A lot of the lore for Lord Tyranthius is based off of legends about King Arthur. The pre-lore for Ryndor mentions him pulling a sword from the stone, a reference to Excalibur. The pre-lore also describes him as being sealed in a magic cave along with his knights, ready to be awakened if needed, another reference to one of the legends about his death. Camlann Hill is a reference to the Battle of Camlann, believed to be the final battle of King Arthur. The Battle of Badon in the pre-lore for Camlann Hill is another reference to a battle attributed to King Arthur. ✔
