4. Mulcarin inspected his new legion. The aspect they presented was far from perfect, of course. The zombies' rotting, discolored flesh didn't put one in mind of daring deeds or in the mood to sing rousing battle songs. Nor were the skeletons' bare bones especially prepossessing. As for the wraiths, Mulcarin's skin prickled whenever he looked at them. But he felt he'd done the best that could be expected of him under such trying circumstances.
