| The cobbler's son from the local village managed to earn himself a scholarship at Darkfriars by passing a taxing examination. However, once he gained entrance to the school he discovered that his trials weren't yet over. Several of his classmates were outraged that a boy from so humble a background would be allowed to walk among their better-bred selves, and treated him with scorn and derision. So one night the boy removed all of their boots from the dormitory and hid them - to see how they liked living without the articles of clothing men like his father provided them with. | |
