| Prefects are pupils on the cusp of adulthood, nearing the end of their secondary education, who have been selected by their headmaster to help police the school. Their chief tasks are to punish younger pupils who violate the rules, and help defend the school against attack. The former is customarily achieved through the ashplant. For the latter role, they're usually instructed in the use of suitable spells. | |
