IX. The heavy door of the hall crashed open across the chaos and out barged Mona of the Elite Guard, flinging electric hell from the twisted gesticulations of her fingers. She locked eyes with Asterion and jerked her head urgently to the right, toward the bailey that lay within the battlements. Namir came up beside her, holding aloft a small open vial that was spitting green sparks. Asterion understood her meaning instantly, turning and taking two great steps to lunge off the wall and down into the bailey below even as Namir cocked his arm to throw.
